Who is She?

My name is Sheila Barnaby, those closest to me call me She or a variation of it. As a day job I work in Administration for local government and have a strong connection to my community through my non profit work.

Professional Philosophy:

• I serve Central Michigan as a birth doula. My home base is Gratiot County.
• I am DONA International certified doula CD(DONA).
• I strongly believe that ALL birthing people deserve to have a doula by their side providing them with evidence based information.
• I support people that want all interventions or none at all.
• I am willing to attend hospital, freestanding, or home births.

There are many doulas to choose from, but you want to find the RIGHT doula for you. Here are some fun facts about me:

• I decided as a freshman in high school that I wanted to have twin boys. 20 years later I adopted twin boys.
• I have lived in Isabella/Gratiot Counties my whole life.
• My favorite place to be is near a body of water big enough so I can hear the waves.
• I am a sucker for Hallmark Christmas movies. I will watch them even if I just watched it the day before.
• I have a face that people "know" they have seen before. In a lot of instances it is because they know my baby sister that looks a lot like me.
• Trauma informed care is my bread and butter. I try to keep it in the front of my mind in all situations.
• I love a good dad joke and will continue to laugh about it for days. The punnier the better!
